Mappings are formal relations between concepts in a client system and those in the CB-NL. For example ,"Bruggen (beweegbaar)" may be specified to be the same as "Beweegbare brug". There are three kinds of relations:

* **same as**. Two concepts are actually the same, but are described differently.
* **subtype of**. The concept in the context ontology is a subtype of a concept in the CB-NL. The concepts are clearly related and some computational decisions can be drawn from this relation.
* **related to**. There is a clear relation between two concepts but this is not based on identity or type. This is a weak descriptor and no computational decisions can be drawn from it. However, for human interaction this may be a relevant relation.

Mappings are available in the ontology by three types of RDF statements. See section on RDF>>doc:SPARQL-endpoint.

Mappings are displayed in the viewer. This takes the form of a relation type, a set of context names, and links to context concepts. For example, for "pump" the following context mapping are available:

By clicking on any context link (such as NEN2767-4: Pomp) the information available on that concept is shown.

Context owners may supply a mapping to the CB-NL team. For this, the team requires a formal description of this mapping, which must be passed as a CSV file. This CSV file must be set up in a particular way.

The following resources are available.

* |rel="__blank" (external link). This checks the contents and returns a ZIP file with the processed results, that can be passed to the CB-NL team for introduction into the CB-NL.
* |rel="__blank" (PDF, in Dutch).
* |rel="__blank" (PDF, in Dutch).
